AZUMI NANYO

The design of the Japanese Azumi Nanyo electric suggests late 1970s or early 1980s manufacture when natural finish and contrasting wood laminations were popular design features. The Nanyo's double pointed cut-away suggests an SG influence.  The two humbucking pickups have blade pole-pieces and it looks like there is a coil-tap switch.

Review:

I got mine from Hawaii. the pickguard was mother of pearl and had became delaminated. haven't found a replacement yet. the front pickup is very strong and sounds really good by itself but the bridge pickup is sort of bland and the two pickup position doesn't inspire me. the guitar has a definite hum from something. it is shielded completely in the cavity. forget about product support from fender USA. they didn't make it and don't know squat about fender of Japan. I don't think the Ventures played this jazzmaster with the same guts.

KRAMER PACER STANDARD

Kramer made the Pacer Standard model between 1981 and 1982. It was a single humbucker strat style guitar with a 3-way tone switch (coil tap?), single volume and tone controls and a non-locking tremolo. In the 1981-1982 period Kramer were still using the Fender style headstock shape.

A similar model, with the Edward Van Halen locking tremolo was available as the Pacer Special model.

I have owned my Ovation Ultra for 19 years. I bought it used, back in high school. It still plays and sounds great after all these years and hundreds of shows. It's still my primary guitar.

Review:

I purchased an ibanez cbt3 in black second hand back in 1997. The ctb3 has a solid body with bolt on neck, PJ pickups and active cuircuitry. The ct series was the forerunner for the ibanez soundgear basses and considered by some to be slightly better. The guitar is now 22 years old and has had a few bits of work done to keep it in good condition. This is a great bass with a wide range of sound. Very comfortable to play. The durability is second to none. This has been my main bass for 17 years and has been dropped and abused ALOT and rarely even needs tuning.

Review:

Ive just purchased one of these. In showroom condition. I love this guitar it plays real easy...nice action...and comfortable, and fun to play. The sound is very nice and even better when you plug in . It's a little bit heavy. I'm a confirmed martin guy...but for the price this is a good guitar.
