Juan Montero Aguilera and his brother Francisco Montero Aguilera were born in Seville in 1929 and 1928 respectively. Following their military service they moved to Cordoba and opened a cabinet making workshop in 1950. They began making classical and flamenco guitars in 1960. Francisco moved to Barcelona in 1964 and from then on Juan dedicated himself fully to guitar construction. Over his career, Juan built more than 890 guitars using top-grade, aged woods. His reputation is significant, and his guitars are renowned for their craftsmanship and sound quality, attracting esteemed musicians like Paco de Lucía and Vicente Amigo, among others.
