Gary Lewandowski

Gary Lewandowski has been making mandolins since 2008. He makes traditional style A5 & F5 models as well as custom mandolins like an Octave mandolin based on a L-5 guitar. He also builds archtop guitars. Lewandowski was a mandolin player who became interested in building after attending the Mandolin Symposium at U.C. Santa Cruz. He met Steve Gilchrist, who introduced him to the art of French polishing instruments. This encounter sparked his interest and with his background in electrical engineering and a love for woodworking and music, Lewandowski combined his interests and began building mandolins. He learned from experts like Steve Gilchrist and Roger Siminoff, gradually mastering the craft.
