Jeronimo Peña Fernandez, born in 1933 in Marmolejo, Spain, is a renowned guitar maker with a background in ornamental carving and carpentry. He began building guitars in the 1950s and has since made over 450 classical and flamenco guitars, and some violins. As a self-taught luthier, his guitars are known for their unique look and sound. His skill in carving means his guitars typically have beautifully carved headstocks and bridges. Fernandez's dedication to guitar making is detailed in his book "El Arte de un guitarrero español" and he is also featured in Luis F. Leal Pinar's "Guitarreros de Andalucia". Notable artists who play his guitars include Enrique Montoya, Manolo Sanlucar, and Manolo Escobar. In 1968, he was awarded a prize by the Ministry of Information and Tourism at the Exposición de Artesanía.
